Mais uma semana em batata frita Sião

Que semana boa! What a great week, nothing to complain, my health is getting better, got my hair cut, ate some free french fries almost every day, and the weather is great. We are kind of looking for a new apartment or a new house to rent because our house is the most expensive in the mission I think. For those who know we are living close to Morunbi which isn't the cheapest place to live. The cheapest place would be in the favela which is free. Oh that film that I sent is when I was in my last area going up the favela to an investigators house, but yea that's my mission in a nut shell. That is were the people are at! Every now and then there area those out side that are prepared and baptized like Adaílton and his family. This week we had a baptism which was great and this Saturday we will have another one. Beatriz is awesome and super elect and the following week will be Nina and Rebecca a mother and her daughter. Nina smokes, but we are there everyday to help her stop. I am having a great time with my companion we get along just great and we both love to work hard so everything is going smoothly. I am trying to learn my way around because we go on divisions a lot with members here and I have to remember how to get to everyones home, if I can't find the home then I go in the favela and find some new people it's great. This is a great ward not just because a member owns a french fry stand and BBQ stand, but the members are very active and happy to work with us. The bishop is from Uruquai, but he and his wife went to BYU and they speak fluent English, Spanish, and Portuguese so this Sunday we had a fun conversation in English were they asked me what food I miss most and I said Mexican food haha. Como pode né an American who misses Mexican food haha so we marked lunch at their house next week. Also the other day a guy stopped me on the road and started asking me stuff in really good English. yea random, it looks like this area has a lot of rich people near by who take English classes or work for an American company. Well I love you all and am excited to hear how your week is going and love the pictures keep them coming

Elder Tropelado

This week was very exciting and very different. Right now I am super close to the mission office, in fact the elders of mission office are in my Zone so I am able to receive and send stuff without any problem. For example I finally received my package! I ate all the fishy crackers (they were amazing please send more haha) and I love the tie parabéns who ever picked it out. Also we are having a blast with the launchers as you can tell by the video. Also we are living in an apartment in Vila Andrade or better known Paraisópolis land of the french fries haha there is a member here who sells them so almost every day we eat some haha. Our area is half rich and half...not so rich (favela) which is awesome its an organized favela with a lot of people ready to hear the gospel. Our zone has baptized 21 so far and have one more week to baptize mais 6.

Oh mom speaking of feeling home sick and showing how not worried I am the last elder who was here is from Arizona and he ended his mission last week and his parents came up to visit him and they stopped by at lunch on Saturday. So I got to meet his parents and help translate for them como eles não sabem como falar português rsrs.

Also on Sunday we had a very intense day... So our chapel building is 5 stories tall and the sports court is at the top...yea chique, and its is awesome! Later that day there was a meeting that we were invited to participate so we went and unfortunately we showed up late. When we got there we went in and got into one of two elevators and went up to the 3rd story and when we got there everything was turned off and dark, so we thought that the meeting ended so we used the bathroom real quick and went back down. When we got down it was also dark and we thought who turned off the lights? then we got to the door and the door was LOCKED! we got locked inside the church and there is no way of unlocking it from inside haha! So after calling and waiting for 30 minutes we were free! But that's not all that happened, after we locked the church we went to go cross the street. The street in front is an avenue and it was almost 8 30 at night so we waited until the cars stopped passing to cross. The problem was we crossed only half the street and we got stuck in the middle of the street. My companion is crazy when it comes to crossing the street he thinks he owns the road and hardly thinks about it so we got stuck in the middle, and after a few seconds I thought wow I hope no one hits us…just as I thought that I felt something swipe my butt really fast and I looked over at my com´panion on my right and he gets swiped by the car. Hits his rear end and he takes of the mirror and part of the plastic bumper of the car, he is thrown back as the cell phone and his glasses were thrown forward. Luckily there were not a lot of cars in our front and he wasn't thrown in the street and stayed in the middle still. He was very lucky but he ripped his pants, broke his glasses and bruised his butt haha. So we walked home and called it a day haha all is well we are fine, just my companion Elder Juliatti from Minas Gerais has to work without glasses for a few days haha. Love you all and I loved the pictures and give a hug to Ella and to meu PAI...PARABÉNS Pra VOCÊ!!! Happy Birthday!!!

To this end was I called, for this cause I came into Ranieri

5....5....5 baptisms!!!!!!!!! Yea you heard me right 5 people!

Wow what a week haha it was a good solid week of following up and planning well so that this day could come to pass. We had a lot of family nights, activities with members, everything so that these baptisms couldn't fall through. One Wednesday we had a show at Aaíltons were he and his son played Guns and Roses on the acoustic and electric guitar, it was really well played, I forward it to you guys and hope you can see it because it is awesome. Adaílton after every visit always buys us something to eat in return for teaching them. (by the way there should be a lot of people who will ask to be added to my facebook so just a heads up they will be adding). Also Ada´lton said that we saved his marriage because he was praying that someone could help him out and we showed up and brought the family back together. Also Laizi the other person baptized is excited and is wanting to serve a mission haha. It was awesome that I was called to serve here just to baptize and make a difference and then move on. This transfer was inspired of God for sure and I finished what I was commanded to do in short time. I was called to save an eternal family...for sure the best reward any missionary could ask for. One year from now they will enter the temple and be sealed for all eternity and I hope I can make it back here to watch haha. love you all

Águas de Mórmon

This week has been another interesting week. I forgot about 4th of July until after our weekly meeting with my district. Hey I loved the pictures that you sent to me, Liked the zoo pictures, brings back good memories (I think that's how you spell memórias).
So I have some new news (novas notícias), last week we had a family night with our elect family in the house of a member and everything was going great until the phone rang...I look and it said "Assistants"...I thought to my self oh great what did I do that the assistants are calling me in the middle of the week. So I answered and talked a little bit to the assistant who is in my group, he told me that the president wants me to be at a meeting the following day. I didn't know why I had to go, I just followed. I showed up and there were all the Zone Leaders and every one was asking why I was there followed by a few other District Leaders who showed up as well. We went to the chapel in Ferreira and President Pino showed up and we sang and prayed to start the meeting normal. Then he said "the following people I want you to stand up when I call your name" So he called my name and a few others and said these are our new ZONE LEADERS. So yea I am going to be a zone leader on the 17th which is the end of the transfer. Haha only one transfer in the area baptize 5 and then I am out to another area! Yea it's way cool.  Although I do feel sad that I am leaving my companion here. He hasn't received an email from home for 3 weeks and I am starting to be really worried. He has been slowly becoming more and more desanimado...unhappy yea that's the word. I don't know why,but I am going to find a solution because I want him to take my place as District Leader. Well that's all for right now I got to get running LOVE YOU ALL

Eleito prestou testemunho

What a week! Sounds like it was a good week over there at the home front, I am wishing I could watch a Mariners game, but there are  more important things to do here sorry. Sunday was awesome, a great spiritual experience. Adaílton and his family (Evira, Fernanda, Daniela, e Tiago) went to church again and it was awesome. Everyone in the ward gave them all a big hug and a kiss on the cheek which is a custom here. They were all very happy and loved church. Adaílton at testimony meeting gave his testimony even though he is not  a member. He said that he has been praying to God a lot that he might show him which church they should go to. They have had some bad experiences in the past were the churches were stealing money from them so they took a break from attending any church. The same night he prayed to God for guidance and we showed up...he gave a great testimony and he said that this is the Church of Jesus Christ. He even ended his testimony just like a member it was great! My letter this week is short because there is a new system to write to the president and I had to read and do a bunch of stuff. But I love you and I hope you all have a great week Com Amor
