Boa Noite!
My first full week of the CTM (as it is pronounced in Portuguese). There is a lot to tell you about so I will start at the beginning. Getting on the plane to the MTC was a lot of fun, there were two elders going to brazil with me so I was able to ride with them and have fun on the plan. One of the elders (Elder Vargus) is in my district so we have the same class schedule and he is fun to have around. When I flew into Provo it was super windy and it was the scariest landing I have ever been in, but luckily the pilot was super skilled and landed the plane. Then me and three other elders squeezed in the back of this really hot van for an hour and finally arrived at the MTC. It was crazy to think that when I stepped out of the van and on the MTC campus I was officially a missionary! They took my picture and I threw my name tag on and sealed the deal I am officially Elder Crandall.
My companion Elder Lloyd is an interesting character he is a farm boy from Kettle Falls Washington. He loves his John Deer Tractor and enjoys talking about his farm and all the cows and chickens and crops he takes care of. I love it when he speaks Portuguese because it almost sounds like he is speaking in a French accent. It is amazing how much Portuguese I have learned in only one week. I know how to pray, bear my testimony, and carry a 7 minute conversation. I can feel everyone's prayers every time I begin to study my language. It truly is amazing what the power of prayer can do!
We had a fireside this Tuesday were Patrick Kearon of the seventy came and gave a wonderful talk. He had a British accent and he used the word "niggles me" to describe when he gets frustrated.
Mom and Dad thank you so much for sending me letters everyday and giving me encouragement and especially its good to get emails about my friends on the field. So Scotty is going to my mission that is so funny, the last thing I told him before I left was "I will see you down there cuz" ha-ha I guess I can never tell a lie.
Brian its good to hear you are doing well in Call Of Duty. Just remember the times that I got more kills then you ha-ha. I love you Brian and I hope you continue to be such a great person.
