ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE!

Wow look at that tan! Little did I know that in my envelope promised lots of sun where I was going. It was a long awaited call due to all the hoops I had to jump through to turn my papers in. After getting all my fun shots down at school, and getting signatures from all sorts of people and photocopying to my parents to get my papers together I was finally able to turn everything in. The hardest part about this whole thing was the anticipation! I was currently at BYU Idaho while waiting for my mission call. I got a call from my father that my mission call has arrived in Washington. From there on I was basically camping at the mail box to wait for my call to come to Idaho. After about 4 days it had finally arrived!

After holding my call in my sweaty hands for many hours the envelop basically opened itself. So here I am sitting on my love sack with my call in hand eagerly reading to find were I am going. The first thing I read is "Elder Crandall" after that I knew it was really happening. I proceeded to read to the last line of the first paragraph when I see the word "Brazil"! The Brazil Sao Paulo Interlagos mission and I would be departing Feb 16th. I was so excited I don't think I have ever calmed down after that. In fact I couldn't sleep that night so I jogged to the Rexburge temple and did a couple laps around it to tire myself out. That jog brought to my attention that I would be going inside that temple sooner than I thought.

Here is a picture of all my friends and family that came to support me and get close to be as excited as I was. There is my older brother, Tommy in the kitchen and is wife Emily in the bottom corner, I have no idea what he was doing back there, but I am sure it was important. My brother Devin and his wife Becca(who took most of these amazing pictures) came to support. I was surprised that we could fit that many people in my apartment, there were still people running through the door to get a spot to see where I was going.

I decided to wear my DARE shirt on this occasion to communicate to the world that I was ready to take on any challenge and go any wear on my mission. Here is a funny shot of my two best friends and I. My friend TJ Galbraith the one in the middle just got his call to the Canada Winnipeg mission. My friend Nate on the right was there to support as well and just a few months after T.J left he recived his call to the Manila, Philippines mission. Luckily I was able to skype Nate the good news about my call, but I had to write T.J about the good news. Each one of us were sent to the far corners of the Earth in search of people to teach about the restored gospel and all of us will have a crazy and unique story to tell when we get back together in 2013.
