Almost 6 months

IMG_0229

Tomorrow I will have 6 months on the mission if you include the two months spent in the MTC e CTM. I guess its right to say that time does fly by. Just the other day I made and awesome contact on the street. A boy was just about to fly a kite (which is super popular here) and I asked him if he knew anyone who would like to hear our message and he said his family would be interested so he pointed me to the house and I went in for the kill. I talked to a woman with a baby in her arms while she was watching TV with the door open (usually I have a hard time making contacts with people who have their door open I don't know why) but I dropped my fear and struck  up a conversation with here and marked to pass by there today with all her family. I guess my Português is improving because I didn't have my companion to back me up because we were knocking on separate doors. Família de ouro!

Also last week we had a baptism and confirmation! Larissa who I thought was already a member was baptized by our ward mission leader Geraldo. We taught her everything she needs to know and she was baptized. Geraldo the person who baptized her was a little nervous and it took him 3 times to get it right. The first time he said the prayer wrong and dunked her while we were trying to tell him to stop and Larissa heard us and had her eyes wide open when she was dunked and started to kick and screamed ha-ha. The second time he said the prayer correct, but here knees came out of the water. The third time he said the prayer right and dunked here almost all the way to the floor ha-ha. But it all turned out fine and the confirmation had to only be done twice. We also have marked for this week which most likely will fall through is Adam who reminds me a lot of Eric Tryon ha-ha. He is 9 years old and he is more mature then me and talks in almost the same manner as E Dog (Eric Tryon). I love teaching him he is really funny and he is easy to teach because he pays attention. But the problem is the divorced father wants to baptism him and he is not exactly worthy so he has to talk to the Stake President and it will delay awhile to get the go ahead. But one thing for sure next week we will have a baptism! Dalva an investigator who was taught in another area but found out that she lives in our area will be baptized the 27th after transfers which is the 23rd. She is super firm  and very responsible for only being 16 years old and she is already making friend in our ward!

I am a little sad that this may be my last week in Riviera Paulista, but I am glad to switch up companion ha-ha. The members here are really improving! When I showed up the leadership was really bad and we had a lot of less active members, but now everyone is supper strong! I feel a little better to leave my area better then I found it.

So this week I am trying to get all my stuff washed at the same time as my companion. We have tons of stuff to be washed and we only have one  little washing machine (which sucks) and a line to hang up our close to dry which takes eternity so I might have to wash my stuff in my next area ha-ha. Mom feel free to send some pictures I will not feel homesick it will be better this way so I don't feel to shocked at the changes when I get home.

The weather down here is nuts I think I have seen all the seasons of brazil in 3 days. One day it is blistering hot then the next day it is freezing and the next day it is sunny then starts to pour down rain! Vida em Brazil

The Temple was awesome! It was a beautiful day when we entered, but started to rain when we left. I didn't see Elder Calvert, but I have faith that I will see him here one day. S every 3 months one Stake will have an opportunity to visit the temple. I hope my next area will be due for another temple trip soon ha-ha. Well I have a lot of work to do and lots of room to improve and luckily this week I say Bruno on the street and he didn't have a knife so all is well. I am starting to see the phrase "God doesn't call the qualified, but qualifies the called" Come true in my mission and without a doubt this is the right place to be for me. I love Brazil and I can't wait to train Scotty or Elder Cox when he gets down here ha-ha Called It!

Com Amor
