This week was a lot of fun and it passed by like a dream. It seemed like yesterday that I wrote to you guys haha. So to answer mom and dads question first is no we don't have bishop firesides here and mom I would like more batteries and if possible some fishy crackers or Reese’s Peanut Butter cups, or if you want to you can send more peanut butter.
This week we went to the temple, it was my companions first time in portugues so it was pretty fun. The temple down here is under reconstruction so Moroni was being polished up in the pictures. Its cool because Clecione in our ward is working on the temple, but unfortunately we didn't see him, but he has a picture of himself and angel Moroni up close and personal. After wards we did the traditional all you can eat BBQ right next to the temple that Sandra should know. The following day we had a training meeting for the new missionaries that was really really good and I even learned a thing or two. Unfortunately we spent practically two days away from our area so our numbers weren't so great, but we managed to get 5 people to church and 2 people progressing for baptism! The lord truly prepares a way, I was worried that if we missed two days we might loose a few people, but it didn't happen instead everything turned out fine. We are in the process of marking people for May so we are meeting a lot of new people. Like the other day we meet a family of 3 Lucas who was our first contact that lives with his sister and his mom and there 12 other people practically live and hang out there. So we got a lot of references and taught a lot of young men and women. The other day we went to go teach them and they said we needed to mark for another day because they were spreading cement on the road ( they live in the favela and the road next to it is all dirt). So we said we would help out and they said we shouldn't because we would get our clothes all dirty (which we did). But that didn't stop us, little did we know that a truck full of cement came and everyone in the favela came out and help spread. We spread for a bit then we went to shoveling cement into wheelbarrows. It was really cool and people were very pleased that we were in there helping them out. We truly showed to everyone that we were there to serve and we defiantly got some brownie points in the Favela.
This week we have a baptism that hopefully everything will work out because we will be baptizing Maria Aparacida. Next week is transfers and we have two more baptisms next week Vaneça and Pereira who was an old investigator that turned into an elect. If I am transferred I know it will be for a good reason and that I have already learned everything that I needed to learn from this area. If not I will baptize them with pleasure and continue working here and baptizing até o pó! Next week I will send more pictures because these pictures I got from my companion because for some random reason the computers here don't like my pictures and only take my companions pictures. love you all and have a great week!
